Madison Area Builders Association: Four students earn MABA Foundation scholarships

Madison – Four college students pursuing careers in the construction and building trades were each awarded scholarships of $1,500 by the Madison Area Builders Association Foundation.

To address labor shortages and highlight the broad array of careers that comprise the building the industry, the Madison Area Builders Association Foundation is pleased to announce its 2016 scholarship award winners.

The recipients, all students in the construction and remodeling program at Madison College, include:

● Clayton Acker

● Mark Cooley, also a US Army Veteran

● Shannon Davis

● Rachael Elliott Hensley

The scholarships are awarded to students that are enrolled in a post-secondary institution and are pursuing careers in the building and construction industry. Scholarship awards are available on annual basis – applications are delivered to high schools, technical colleges and universities located within the Association’s five county jurisdiction.

“In an effort to encourage students to pursue jobs in the building trades in the Madison are, we are pleased to award scholarships to these future leaders of our industry to assist in defraying the costs of higher education,” stated Amber Schroeder, Executive Director of the Association.
