FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Waukesha, Wisconsin, August 24, 2016 – Hamacher Resource Group, Inc. (HRG) has trained and certified thirteen merchandisers for Puerto Rican drug wholesaler, Drogueria Betances. The extensive, multi-module training program that spanned several months covered the essentials of effective pharmacy front-end merchandising. This first class of merchandisers earned certification from HRG experts and will be implementing their new skills in Betances’ client community pharmacies across the island.
The 15-hour Hamacher Merchandiser Certification program included three training webcasts from HRG analysts and a full-day certification test graded by HRG. The program emphasized the critical role of following planograms and stocking the proper assortment, with an additional focus on merchandisers working with pharmacists to convey the significant sales opportunity when a front-end is well-merchandised.
To help kick off this new merchandising initiative among the stores, Betances held an exclusive invitation-only event for pharmacists. The two-hour education session focused on category management and the value of independent pharmacies in the community.

Those stores that have been following the HRG category management program have seen an improvement in sales, some up to 20% in the short time it’s been in use.
