County Materials: Recognized at AIA Wisconsin Expo

Madison, WI – County Materials Corporation’s booth was selected as one of 10 from over 130 exhibitors to receive a merit award at the American Institute of Architects’ Annual Wisconsin Convention & Building Products Expo last April 27-28 at Monona Terrace in Madison.

The jury selected County Materials for an Honorable Mention based on the company’s interactive activity offered at the booth, knowledgeable and friendly personnel, and its visual display integrating the convention theme, “Science + Art = Architecture.”

The annual AIA event provides architects from all over the state the opportunity to earn continuing education credits and stay up to date with advancements in the industry. County Materials’ booth encouraged attendees to learn first-hand about designing and installing County Materials’ concrete masonry and landscape products as well as the various applications for their use, including residential, commercial and municipal projects.

“It really does combine science and art to create architecture,” says County Materials’ representative Maureen Bredeson. “It’s a collaboration between the science of how County Materials makes concrete construction and landscape materials and how architects and designers ultimately create the concept they have visualized in their minds. This event provides manufacturers like County Materials an excellent opportunity to showcase (booth visitors) an overview of every product we offer. Sometimes they aren’t aware of everything we’re capable of doing.”

County Materials was also involved with other aspects of the event, including Thursday’s architectural Excellence in Masonry awards breakfast. “Thank you for making the AIA Wisconsin Building Products Expo a valuable and enjoyable place for architects to learn about products and services available to the Wisconsin design and construction industry,” AIA Past President and booth awards juror Melissa Destree, AIA.
