PEWAUKEE, WIS. – American Transmission Co. is featured on the list of 50 Best Workplaces for Giving Back according to the consulting firm Great Place to Work® and Fortune magazine.

Great Place to Work® analyzed surveys from nearly 600 companies to rank those that best create a sense of purpose and meaning among their employees through involvement in the community. Not only do these workplaces stand out for their generosity, their team members also express a great deal of pride in what their organizations accomplish.

“This recognition is particularly gratifying. ATC employees have proven to be generous in their time and resources for making a difference in the communities we serve,” said ATC President and CEO Mike Rowe. “I appreciate employees who volunteer throughout the year for our days of caring or their personal passions. I also appreciate employees’ support of our United Way campaigns and for donating to organizations that are further supported through our Matching Gifts Program. I am grateful to be among employees who genuinely care and take the time to give back.”

In the spirit of giving back, ATC will donate $1,000 to a non-profit organization chosen by employees in each county where its offices are located: Brown County, Dane County, Dickinson County and Waukesha County.

“The Best Workplaces for Giving Back demonstrate more than just a commitment to charity,” said Kim Peters, executive vice president at Great Place to Work®. “These organizations have earned employees’ admiration by involving staffers in their community service efforts and contributing resources in ways that genuinely reflect their unique cultures.”

ATC and the other winning companies were selected based on responses to the Trust Index©, Great Place to Work’s employee assessment survey. Employees rated their sense that they make a difference in their jobs, the meaningfulness of their work, and the impact they feel their organizations make in the community. The list also took into account company programs and an analysis of anonymous employee comments about their workplaces.

The Best Workplaces for Giving Back is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work® and Fortune based upon employee survey feedback from Great Place to Work®-certified organizations.

Last fall, ATC also ranked among the nation’s top-25 medium-sized Great Places to Work as published in Fortune.
