Fincantieri Marine Group V.P. brings multi-faceted representation to group
NEW NORTH – Heidi Mitchell, vice president of human resources at Fincantieri Marine Group, has been named to the board of directors of New North Inc., Tim Weyenberg, chair of the board development committee, announced. Her addition was approved at the Oct. 16 New North board meeting, held in Plymouth, Wis.
Mitchell has three decades of experience in human resources with global companies, including 10 years at the vice-president level. Along with Fincantieri, which she joined in March 2015, Mitchell has worked with fellow manufacturers SPX Corporation, Volkswagen of America and, from 2012-15, Neenah Foundry. Mitchell’s H.R. background also includes a decade within the healthcare industry, with Pfizer and Zimmer.
Fincantieri Marinette Marine is a leading U.S. shipbuilder active in the naval and commercial sector, employing more than 2,200 people across its three shipyards. Fincantieri Marinette Marine has a long tradition of building Navy, Coast Guard and commercial vessels, and currently is the builder of the U.S. Navy’s LCS Freedom class. Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding is one of the main U.S. builders of merchant ships, which includes tugs, barges and offshore support vessels, along with being a leader in repair and conversions in the Great Lakes region. Fincantieri ACE Marine, using its excellence in aluminum construction, builds small- and medium-sized boats and patrol vessels, particularly for use by the U.S. Coast Guard.
