Madison, Wis. (August 31, 2015) – Edgewood College is pleased to welcome author Alice Goffman as the speaker for the 4th Annual Heffernan Lecture.

Ms. Goffman’s groundbreaking nonfiction debut, On the Run, brings us into the lives of young African-American men living as suspects and fugitives in a Philadelphia community torn apart by poverty and crime. She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Sociology at UW-Madison.

The lecture takes place at 7:00 pm, Thursday, September 17, 2015, in Anderson Auditorium. There is no admission fee, and the public is invited. Seating is limited.

The 4th Annual Heffernan Lecture is presented with support from the Bob and Carroll Heideman Crossing Educational Boundaries fund.
