National When Work Works initiative accepting applications for yearly workplace award

When Work Works Award to recognize model worksites nation-wide

Madison, Wis. (Aug. 18, 2015) – Starting on Monday, Aug. 17, When Work Works (WWW)—a national initiative to help businesses become more successful by promoting effective and flexible workplaces—will begin accepting application for its 2015-2016 When Work Works Award recognizing employers for innovative and effective workplace practices.

WWW is led by the Families and Work Institute (FWI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and is partnered locally with the Wisconsin State Council Society for Human Resource Management.

“The best practices being promoted by WWW have been implemented by many businesses in Wisconsin, and the results are happier, more productive employees and in turn employers that are better positioned to thrive,” said Katie Reid, WI-SHRM state director. “Effective workplaces have a direct connection to regional and state economic health, and it benefits employers of all sizes and types to take advantage of the resources provided by WWW and the opportunity to be recognized with the WWW Award.”

In addition to potential national recognition, employers who apply for the WWW Award will receive a free customized benchmarking report comparing their workplace practices to competitors locally and across the country. The application deadline is Friday, November 6, 2015. For more information on the WWW Award and to learn more about the free resources provided by WWW, visit www.whenworkworks.org.
