Cable Area Off Road Classic: To be back on single track

Cable Area Off Road Classic to be back on single track!

Organizers for the Cable Area Off Road Classic announced today that the race will once again utilize the popular single track course that has made it one of the premier early season mountain bike races in the Midwest. Late snow cover the last two years has kept the Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association-CAMBA from opening the trail system before the mid-May race. ‘Our mountain bike trail system is world renowned and has received several nice accolades the past few years We want to do everything within our power to protect that trial system, including not using it when the weather doesn’t cooperate’ says race organizer James Bolen. ‘We prefer to utilize the great single track course we typically use for the race and we are excited that we can do that once again this year.’ CAMBA officially opened all their trails this past weekend, well ahead of the May 16th race date.

The race, which runs on about 75 percent single track is a point to point race running from downtown Cable to Lakewoods Resort in the Town of Namakagon. Organizers also offer a gravel road course known as the Gravel Grind. Both races start and finish in the same locations.
