Sheboygan recognized as one of best cities for single millennial women

Population makes the community an ideal place to meet high-quality men

Sheboygan – Already recognized as one of the hottest economies in the nation, the City of Sheboygan is now being recognized as an ideal place for young millennial women to meet high-quality men, according to a newly-released study from DatingAdvice.com. There is no consensus on the exact years that generations begin and end but in general, millennials are defined as those born between 1986 and 1995, placing their current ages at 20-29. Dating Advice’s report proclaims “Ladies, 1,793 extra single men [in Sheboygan] waiting for you!”

Overall, there are more single millennial men in cities such as Madison, Chicago and Minneapolis, but considering the vast population of these communities, finding that guy is quite like a needle in a haystack. In Sheboygan, they are much easier to find, considering a per capita basis. Sheboygan was the only city in the upper Midwest region including Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois to make the list. Other cities included far-flung places such as Washington State (with three of the 19 cities), South Carolina, and Texas. Sheboygan’s status is only expected to increase; the City of Sheboygan’s unemployment rate has declined sharply, 4.8% for February 2015, according to data just released from Wisconsin’s Department of Workforce Development (DWD). This unemployment rate is 25% below the level recorded one year ago and an overwhelming decline of the peak rate for February, which was 13.2% back in 2010.

Those eligible bachelors are likely to earn higher wages than average; Sheboygan County’s per capita income is seventh highest in the state. What’s more, millennial women can find quality companies to start a career and earn great wages including Acuity (recently rated one of the best companies to work for by Fortune Magazine, as well as HSA Bank, Kohler, and American Orthodontics, to name a few.

Millennials are also driving the need for market rate housing in the City of Sheboygan. A recently completed study revealed a 0.4% vacancy rate, well below the level that traditionally triggers new development. Many new hires are being forced to commute from outside the county due to local rental housing stock not meeting the requirements many new members of the workforce desire.

“DatingAdvice.com provides recognition of the vast variety of qualities offered in Sheboygan County,” noted Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation Attraction Marketing Specialist Sara Spicer. “The county was recently recognized as ‘Most Equitable Community in the United States’ by Global Post, and we know millennials value equality. Other recognition such as ‘Best Midwest Beaches,’ ‘Bicycle Friendly Community,’ and one of the ‘Smartest Communities in the United States’ are just some of the values that research shows millennials hold in high regard.”
