In continued partnership, the Madison Region Economic Partnership and the Urban League of Greater Madison will host a joint event for Madison Region business and community leaders focused on economic development and diversity.
The Madison Region’s Economic Development & Diversity Summit builds on last year’s inaugural event in recognition of the need for authentic collaboration to advance the region’s economy, understand the impact of diversity within business, and improve opportunities for all the regions citizens.
The day-long event — held May 14 at the Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center in Madison — will include both plenary and breakout sessions, plus ample networking opportunities.
Featured speakers will include:
Steve Pemberton is a Fortune 50 executive at Walgreens, serving as the Divisional Vice President and the company’s first Chief Diversity Officer. He previously made history as the first Chief Diversity Officer for an Internet start-up while at Monster.com
Dr. Julianne Malveaux is an economist, author, and commentator widely recognized for her contributions to the public dialogue on race, culture, gender, and their economic impacts in 21st-century America.
Chris Brassell is National Director in Pricewaterhousecooper’s Office of Diversity. His expertise includes cultural transformation, multi-generational diversity, and engaging majority populations in the diversity & inclusion discussion.
