Sprecher Brewing Co.: Sprecher opens pop up store and beer garden in Ashwaubenon

Glendale, WI – Saturday, October 18th, Sprecher Brewing Company will be putting the finishing touches on its pop up store and beer garden located at 741 Potts Ave (soon to be renamed Mike McCarthy Way) in Ashwaubenon. The Sprecher pop up store, beer garden and twelve tap fire truck will open for business at 9am on Sunday morning, just in time for pre-game festivities. Randy Sprecher and most of the company will arrive around 10am to inaugurate the new venue before going to the Packers game.

The pop up store will offer Sprecher beers and sodas, an assortment of Sprecher snacks, Sprecher gear and growlers of beer or soda to go. It will have an indoor beer garden with eight tables for people who would like to enjoy beverages and snacks on premise. It will also have an outdoor beer garden, complete with tables, heat lamps and lighting. Beers served in the outdoor beer garden will be tapped from the twelve (12) tap converted fire truck.

“This all happened rather serendipitously. I received an unsolicited notice to rent the front of the building for signage, which I wasn’t interested in. But I called the owner to find out about renting parking for our annual company Packers trip that had been scheduled for the October 19th game. In the course of our conversation he agreed to lease the building on a short term basis,” said Jeff Hamilton, president of Sprecher. “I checked with the State, then Ashwaubenon. Ashwaubenon has been welcoming and great to work with, particularly Village Manager Allison Swanson.

“We have a Gift Shop and beer garden at the brewery in Glendale, and we’ve done many outdoor events such as the Wisconsin State Fair, so I knew we could manage this. In addition to the building one of our fire trucks that has been converted into a twelve tap truck will be on site. People really enjoy the repurposed fire trucks for a number of reasons, but especially because they can get a range of Sprecher beers poured to order. Of course we’ll offer our sodas, and our new malternatives: Hard Root Beer and Hard Ginger Beer. The pieces are still falling in place. If you stop by tomorrow, you’ll see people working hard to have the venue ready to go on Sunday. We plan to have the store open Thursday through Sunday this winter, and expect to have a lot of pre- and post- game traffic because we’re so close to Lambeau” Hamilton continued.
