Boys and Girls of Summer Take the Field for Final 2014 Season Vintage Baseball Games September 13 and 14 at Old World Wisconsin
Eagle, Wis.–Old World Wisconsin will host two vintage baseball games this upcoming weekend as part of the museum’s Toys and Games theme. On Saturday, September 13, at 1:30 pm, the men’s Eagle Diamonds team will play the Chicago Salmon, guided by the 1860s rules. On Sunday, September 14, also at 1:30 pm, the Kenosha Comets will take the field. This vintage WWII-era women’s team commemorates one of the member teams of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League that was featured in the movie “A League of Their Own.” The Kenosha Comets invite museum guests to play against them for an exhibition game; guests do not need to dress in period apparel.
This special weekend is part of the overarching Autumn on the Farms 19th- and early 20th-century seasonal programming that runs through the end of October. Tickets: Admission to the games is included with museum admission. Adults $16; children (5-17) $9 (children under 5 are free); students and senior citizens (65 and over) $14; family (two adults and two or more dependent children 5-17) $43. Baseball Car Load pricing is in effect during both games: $43 admits an entire car load (up to nine people).

Old World Wisconsin is located in the Milwaukee/Chicago/Madison triangle.The outdoor museum features 19th- and early 20th-century Midwestern immigrant farm and rural life. In 2014, the museum launched “Catch Wheel Fever!”, a hands-on 1890s cycling experience, to great guest response.
