Overpass Light Brigade, short film by makers of Forward, shows in PBS Online Film Festival

MADISON, WI—June 27, 2014

The documentary short film Overpass Light Brigade is being screened by the 2014 PBS Online Film Festival through July 31, 2014. The free screenings are available to online at http://www.pbs.org/filmfestival/.

Blending interviews of its founders and activists with stunning time-lapse photography, Overpass Light Brigade shows how UW-Milwaukee professors Lane Hall and Lisa Moline created a simple, beautiful form of public performance art that, when joined with Milwaukee 4th grade teacher Joe Brusky’s social media savvy and the dedication of countless volunteer “Holders of the Lights,” became a Facebook sensation and inspired 39 OLB chapters in the United States and Europe.

One of 25 selections in this year’s PBS Online Film Festival, Overpass Light Brigade was shot largely in Madison and Milwaukee by Dusan Harminc and Matt Mullins, the team that made the documentary feature Forward. The short film has screened at scores of sites around the U.S. as part of two-dozen film festivals, including the New Belgium Brewery’s 2013 Clips of Faith Tour of the country.
