Dept. of Commerce: 3rd Annual Wisconsin Community Leadership Summit Will Focus on Wisconsin’s Future

MADISON – Community leaders and organizers, local government officials,
state agency professionals, businesses, and community development
specialists interested in building stronger Wisconsin communities through
leadership development will want to attend the Third Annual Wisconsin
Community Leadership Summit to be held April 13-14 at the Ramada Inn
Convention Center in Eau Claire.

“Building active, effective leaders in both Wisconsin communities and
businesses is integral to growing strong statewide connections and
partnerships,” said Department of Commerce Secretary Mary P. Burke. “This
summit is designed to build individual and community leadership skills,
share resource information, and recognize outstanding leadership.”

The Wisconsin Community Leadership Summit will feature two keynote speakers:
Bliss W. Browne, the founder and president of a non-profit organization,
Imagine Chicago; and Tim Pflieger, the owner of Team Leadership Center, Inc.
Breakout sessions will follow on such topics such as youth leadership,
running for office, and ethics and effective leadership.

The registration fee is $135 for full payment by March 2 or $185 for full
payment by April 2. Pre-registration is required to attend the Wisconsin
Community Leadership Summit. A registration form is available online at

The Wisconsin Community Leadership Summit is hosted by the Wisconsin Rural
Partners, Inc., the Wisconsin Rural Leadership Program, and the University
of Wisconsin – Extension. Conference partners include the Corporation for
National & Community Service – Wisconsin State Office, Eau Claire Energy
Cooperative, Minnesota Rural Partners, Ramada Inn Convention Center Eau
Claire, Wisconsin Department of Commerce, and Wisconsin Towns Association.
