DWD: Wisconsin Unemployment Services Extended with Holiday Hours

MADISON – Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Roberta Gassman announced today that unemployment insurance staff will be working additional hours on Saturday, December 18, 2004 to take claims by telephone.

“Traditionally more workers file for unemployment insurance benefits at this time of year, as many plants temporarily shut down because of the holidays and the weather. These extended hours will allow unemployed workers to get their claims filed on time,” said Secretary Gassman. “To further assist workers with claims filing, they may also file on the web at www.ucclaim-wi.org,” she added.

Hours available to file on the Internet are:
* Sunday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
* Monday-Friday 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
* Saturday 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Staff are available to file by phone:
* Monday through Friday: 7:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
* Saturday, 12/18/04: 7:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
