Neenah, Wis. — First National Bank – Fox Valley continues supporting their community with a donation of $1,055 to ThedaCare's Breast Cancer-Vive! Program.
First National Bank-Fox Valley has donated to cancer research and programs for many years, and for the past three years, has also provided opportunities for employees to raise funds. For the Vive! donation, the staff planned office fundraisers such as Friday Jeans Days and a breakfast prepared and served by coworkers. The bank matched the funds raised.
Peter Prickett, president and CEO of First National Bank-Fox Valley, said he is proud of the staff for working together for such an important cause.
"The whole First National-Bank Fox Valley staff is happy to raise money for a program supporting those touched by cancer," said Prickett.
Several First National Bank-Fox Valley employees led the fundraising efforts, including Nancy Heling, internal auditor/compliance officer, Kathy Blumreich, senior vice president of retail and finance banking, and Shannon Weyenberg, account/operations analyst, all who are breast cancer survivors.
The donation will help offset the cost for patients with no insurance or the financial means to participate in the Breast Cancer-Vive! Program. This is a structured group environment that helps address the emotional and educational aspects of a cancer patient's journey. Research shows that reducing stress and improving quality of life decreases cancer recurrence and increases survival.
