Nolan Accounting Center understands that it’s been another rough year for small sized businesses. On top of the economic challenges, there are many tax law changes that can have a big impact on the bottom line.

For over 45 years, Nolan Accounting Center of Greenfield has been a locally owned & operated family business offering accounting, payroll & tax preparation for small businesses. Nolan Accounting Center offers the following checklist of tax tips for businesses.

Qualifying businesses should take advantage of bonus depreciation & new rules for business expensing. For 2010, there were several payroll tax exemptions for hiring new workers throughout the year & a credit for retaining new workers. More importantly, New Health Care Reform laws created a credit for small businesses that provide health insurance to their employees. Lastly, an often overlooked deduction for Manufacturing companies is the Domestic Production Activities Deduction.

As a reminder, not all businesses are the same, & each situation requires a look at each business’s unique circumstances to customize year-end tax planning techniques to yield maximum value.
