Project to create 125 jobs

MADISON—Governor Jim Doyle today announced that Curt Manufacturing has received $400,000 in tax credits from the Economic Development Tax Credit Program and an $11 million Recovery Zone Facility Bond allocation from the Department of Commerce (Commerce) for an expansion project in the City of Altoona, Eau Claire County. The City of Altoona has received a $256,545 grant from the Community Development Block Grant-Public Facilities (CDBG-PF) Program from Commerce to extend and update infrastructure of a city road that will serve the company.

“I am pleased that we could assist the City of Altoona and Curt Manufacturing in this expansion project,” Governor Doyle said. “It is great to see them work together to increase economic vitality and create jobs in Wisconsin.”

Curt Manufacturing is a manufacturer, importer, and distributor of towing systems products, trailer products, and specialty equipment products. It will construct a 150,000-sq.-ft. warehouse and logistics facility next to its existing 165,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility in Altoona. The City of Altoona will make a 600-ft. extension of Mayer Road in order to serve the company’s new facility, and will update the road’s curb, gutter, and storm sewer infrastructure. This project will create 125 jobs and represents $12.8 million in investment.
