Madison, Wis. (December 13, 2010) – Marty Preizler, Dean of the School of Business at Edgewood College, will join the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence. This relatively new organization was created by the merger of the Wisconsin Forward Award – the state’s honor for Baldrige-based quality improvements – and the Madison Area Quality and Innovation Network.

“This is a great honor for Marty, and he’ll make a great addition to this organization,” Mary Kelly-Powell, Vice President for Academic Affairs said. “Marty’s experience in business – especially here in Madison – makes him a real asset for this Board, and makes him invaluable for the College and our students.”

Mr. Preizler has nearly forty years of leadership experience in government and private business. He has been the President and CEO/COO of three health insurance companies in Madison, Minneapolis and Portland, Oregon. From 1998-2008 he was President and CEO of Physicians Plus Health Insurance Corporation in Madison, with revenues of approximately $400 million, serving 110,000 customers in twenty southern Wisconsin counties. He has previously served as a national Baldrige examiner and as a judge for the Wisconsin Forward Award.

Mr. Preizler was named Dean of the School of Business at Edgewood College in April 2010.
