Gov. Doyle: Announces funding for Wisconsin Business Employees Skills Training

MADISON—Governor Jim Doyle today announced that PCR Food Safety Lab, LLC, Richland Center, Richland County, and L.H. Holdings, Inc., Slinger, Washington County, will receive funding from the Business Employees Skills Training (BEST) program from the Department of Commerce (Commerce) for assistance in training their employees.

“The BEST program focuses on providing employees with training that will upgrade the skills of Wisconsin’s workforce,” Governor Doyle said. “These grants will help provide the training that will allow Wisconsin businesses to continue to move forward and to grow.”

PCR Food Safety Lab, LLC, established in 2009, will receive $6,338 to provide employee training that will allow it to be ISO certified. The company specializes in determining pathogens in finished food products available for consumer purchase.

L.H. Holdings, Inc., established in 1988, markets, sells, and distributes gear for whitetail deer hunters. The company will receive $787 to train its employees, focusing on the improvement of functionality and best practice procedures.

Businesses throughout Wisconsin can apply for funds through the BEST program for assistance in training employees.
