SupraNet Communications: President Bryan Chan wins Indie Award

Madison, WI –– Bryan Chan, president and founder of SupraNet Communications, Inc., is the gracious recipient of a 2010 Indie Award. The Indie Awards, presented by Isthmus Publishing and Heartland Credit Union, recognize local business leaders who enrich our society by means of sustainability, innovation, and advocacy for their local community. Nominations were collected throughout the month of September.

Of the eight possible categories, Chan was honored with the “Dane and Beyond” award. Nominees in this category demonstrate their ability to “reach beyond today’s way of doing business. They mentor and help solve problems that block economic and community growth, while encouraging innovation in Dane County and beyond.” Chan’s commitment to a variety of volunteer and mentoring programs, as well as his talent for hosting events that bring the community together, made him a clear contender for this award.

Some notable aspects of Chan’s work include serving as board member for United Way AVD CST, the AidMatrix Governor’s Advisor Board, High Tech Happy Hour Board, and Big Brothers Big Sister of Dane County, of which he serves as Treasurer. He is also involved in four separate MERLIN Mentors teams and is an active member of several local organizations such as Dane Buy Local, Downtown Rotary, and area Chambers of Commerce.

An awards presentation to recognize Chan and the other seven honorees will take place November 15th at Eldorado Grill.
