Green Bay, Wisconsin — The Dairy Business Association (DBA) is proud to endorse the candidacy of Reid Ribble in the November 2nd general election. Mr. Ribble has the tools and experience necessary to best represent the people of the 8th Congressional District in Washington, DC.

“Mr. Ribble recognizes the important role dairy plays in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District,” said Jerry Meissner, President of DBA. “Of the top 15 dairy-producing counties in the Midwest region, six are located in Mr. Ribble’s district making it one of the top milk-producing congressional districts in the nation.”

Agriculture employs one out of ten Wisconsin citizens and contributes over $59 billion in economic activity to Wisconsin. Of that total, dairy is responsible for almost half or $26.5 billion each year. Even though milk production continues to increase, our cheese makers still import about 13 percent of their milk from other states. The dairy industry has room to grow to create more jobs and economic activity. Unfortunately, increased regulation has deterred many dairy farmers from expanding their businesses to capitalize on this shortage.

“Reid has taken the time to meet with DBA dairy farmers,” said Laurie Fischer, Executive Director of DBA. “He understands the services farmers provide are essential to Wisconsin’s economic well-being and our citizen’s access to an affordable and nutritious food source,” continued Fischer. “We believe he is the right person to represent dairy in Washington, DC.”

DBA previously endorsed Mr. Ribble in the GOP primary because our membership felt he was the best candidate in the field. In the general election, DBA members believe Mr. Ribble will do the best job controlling taxes and spending while standing up for Wisconsin dairymen.
