Thursday, November 4, 2010 3:30 pm — 5:45 pm
Fluno Center
601 University Ave
Madison, WI 53715

Presenters are Mike Knetter, Dean of the Wisconsin School of Business; William C. Foote Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, USG Corporation, Director, Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago; Morris Davis Professor, Real Estate and Urban Land Economics, Wisconsin School of Business, University of Wisconsin.

Over the past four years, the biggest issue facing America’s family businesses has been the state of the economy. Even though the recovery has been slow, those with the understanding of current conditions are best positioned to take advantage of the new economy. Now is the time to arm yourself with knowledge from these three experts to take advantage of the new economic realities. The UW Family Business Center’s Economic Outlook will focus on the trends from three different perspectives that will help you and your business make sound decisions in 2010 and the future.

Dean Mike Knetter will focus on macro economic trends and the impact from the educational perspective while Morris Davis, a professor from the nationally acclaimed Grasskamp Center for Real Estate, and former advisor to Alan Greenspan, focuses on the micro economic trends in real estate, and William Foote understands the economic forecasting complexities from both a public corporation and as the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. The three will give their individual perspectives and join together on a panel debate answering your most pressing questions.

Some of the topics to be covered include:

* The expectations for economic growth
* A case for economic pessimism versus economic optimism
* Discussion regarding the resilience of the U.S. economy
* An outlook for the Midwest economy
* The anticipated impact of U.S. deficits
* The progress of real estate markets
* The status of housing recovery

Cost: $200 per company (up to 2 people)
