MADISON—Governor Jim Doyle today announced a $5.4 million Economic Development Administration grant to the City of Wauwatosa and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Real Estate Foundation, Inc. to build a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified business accelerator and industrial park site to accommodate the region’s advanced manufacturing sector.

“Strengthening Wisconsin’s economy and giving our workers a competitive advantage has always been one of my top priorities,” Governor Doyle said. “This project will assist Wisconsin’s manufacturing sector to expand and helps create a stronger economic future for the state.”

The project includes the construction of a 25,000-sq.-ft. LEED certified business accelerator, new roadway infrastructure, and the extension of utilities. The funding will help advance manufacturing businesses giving them access to state-of-the-art laboratories and faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
