Foley & Lardner: Roberta F. Howell elected president of the Western Wisconsin Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

We are pleased to announce that Roberta F. (Bobbi) Howell, partner in the Madison office of Foley & Lardner LLP, has been elected president of the Western Wisconsin Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). JDRF is the worldwide leader for research to cure type 1 diabetes and is the largest charitable funder and advocate of diabetes science worldwide.

Since 2001, JDRF has provided more than $3 million to researchers in the Madison area and over $1.4 billion to researchers worldwide with the sole mission to find a cure for diabetes and treatment to prevent the complications that result.

Ms. Howell is firmly committed to finding a cure for diabetes. She has two children with Type 1, diagnosed at ages 2 and 9, and working toward finding a cure has become a family affair for the Howells.

Ms. Howell has been actively involved with JDRF for the past ten years, serving as vice-president of the JDRF Board of Directors for four years prior to being elected president. She is also a dedicated and committed JDRF volunteer. She and her family have collectively raised or contributed more than $70,000 to diabetes research through activities including the organization’s annual JDRF Gala, Walk for the Cure, Ride to Cure, Friends of JDRF Diamonds in the Rough Golf Classic fundraiser, and many others.

We sincerely congratulate Ms. Howell on being elected president of JDRF’s Western Wisconsin Chapter and wish her the best in furthering JDRF’s mission.
