Neenah, Wis. – Theresa Lehman, Director of Sustainable Services for Miron Construction Co., Inc., has joined the Board of Directors of the WI Sustainable Business Council (WISBC).
WISBC is a network of Wisconsin businesses and organizations that are working to meet the challenges of sustainability, and provide resources to other businesses on their path towards becoming more sustainable. Among the Council’s other board members are:

“Serving on this prestigious board is a great opportunity to share some of the successful sustainability initiatives we’ve implemented at Miron as well as learn from the other great sustainable Wisconsin leaders,” Lehman said. “I look forward to working with businesses in Wisconsin that capitalize on sustainable opportunities and focus on the health of well-being of people, protecting Wisconsin’s environment and positively impacting the bottom line.”
Lehman has led the effort to create the sustainability program within Miron, including the education effort that has resulted in over 85% of the executive and project management team becoming LEED Accredited Professionals, creating the LEED Action Plans to certify their corporate office in Neenah and regional office in Milwaukee, and focusing on an increase in energy efficiency and a reduction in environmental impacts. Additionally, she is leading the initiatives to integrate “green” into Miron’s business practices and construction operations.
“LEED and sustainability is a team effort. I am fortunate to be part of an organization that truly believes in sustainability. As an organizational driver, sustainability is a priority supported from the top down and the bottom up. It has become engrained in corporate culture. It’s who we are,” said Lehman. “For example, without the support of our field personnel and yard operations, Construction Waste Management or Construction Indoor Air Quality Management would not happen on every one of Miron’s jobsites. I’m proud of our entire team and we will continue to strive to be sustainable leaders.”
