Beloit, WI – The Stateline World Trade Association (SLWTA) welcomes Jan Blaho to its first meeting of the SLWTA season. US exports are up 17.7% in the first half of 2010. Jan Blaho is Business Development Officer at the US Export–Import Bank. Blaho will speak on financial services available to businesses involved in import and export, and how these services can improve a businesses bottom line. The meeting will be held on September 23, 2010 at the Beloit Inn, 500 Pleasant Street.

During his career Blaho has worked at several international banks, most recently for VUB Bank in Slovakia where he was a Member of the Board, and the Executive Director for the Corporate Banking Division. While there, he worked with structured trade finance, syndications, and small and medium enterprises. In October 2007 Jan received Ex Im Bank’s Chairman Award for his effectiveness in servicing the small business community.

The SLWTA’s mission is to promote both an understanding and an appreciation of the international marketplace. The SLWTA season starts in September and runs through April. The first meeting on September 23rd will start with networking and cash bar at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:15 p.m., with the program immediately following dinner. Cost is $25 for members, $30 for non-members and $15 for students with ID. Menu is fresh bronzed salmon served over wild rice and wilted spinach topped with maple bourbon glaze, mixed green salad with creamy garlic dressing, warm bread with basil butter oil, Caramel Apple Pie a’ la mode served w/vanilla bean ice cream, and beverage. Dietary restrictions should be noted when registering and substitutions can be ordered. Registration must be received by Tuesday, September 21. No-shows or cancellations on the day of the program will be charged the full fee.
