AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka and others to also participate in Labor Day celebration

On Monday, Sept. 6, President Obama and Secretary of Labor Solis will join union families in Milwaukee for Labor Day. The event is one of hundreds that working people are holding across the country to call for good jobs and a strong, middle class economy and boost get-out-the-vote efforts for November’s midterm elections.

WHO: Barack Obama, President of the United States;

Richard Trumka, President of the National AFL-CIO;

David Newby, President Wisconsin State AFL-CIO;

Sheila Cochran, Milwaukee Area Labor Council

Estimated 10,000 workers and working families.

WHAT: Largest Labor Day celebration in Wisconsin preceded by parade of union members. President Obama and Trumka will address crowd.

WHERE: Summerfest Grounds, Milwaukee Wisconsin.

WHEN: Monday, September 6th. Parade at 11 a.m. Laborfest Celebration: noon- 7 p.m.
