Milwaukee, Wisconsin (August 30, 2010) Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. is pleased to announce that Jason E. Kuwayama, attorney and member of the Banking and Financial Institutions Practice Group, is a recipient of the Wisconsin Law Journal’s Up and Coming Lawyers of 2010 award. An honorary awards banquet will be held for Kuwayama and 25 other recipients on Tuesday, August 31 in Milwaukee.

The Wisconsin Law Journal’s Up and Coming Lawyers award recognizes attorneys who are on the fast track to making significant impacts on the legal profession. These attorneys demonstrate dedication and determination to their legal work, communities and respective law firms.

Kuwayama is recognized specifically for his work in connection with the nationwide trading of approximately $3.3 billion of distressed assets. “We could not have achieved this level of success for our clients without the support and hard work of Godfrey & Kahn staff and attorneys who are involved with these transactions,” Kuwayama says.

Kuwayama remains active in the business and law communities as a member of the Board of Directors of both the Independent Business Association of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Forum, Inc. He received his bachelor’s degree in Communications from Northwestern University and his J.D. from Marquette Law School.

“The future of our firm and the legal community rests with talented young lawyers like Jason Kuwayama,” said Rick Bliss, Managing Partner of Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. “We are proud of Jason and grateful for the energy and commitment which he has displayed for the benefit of clients and colleagues.”
