NEW NORTH – As the need for renewable energy continues to grow, the New North has embraced this opportunity by leading the charge of collaborative growth focused on the wind industry as a cluster for the region.
New North, Inc. helped identify more than 100 resident regional industries (vendor-suppliers) that possess the production capacity to meet the needs of all component products required of the wind energy industry.
By bringing this group together, the number of vendor-suppliers quickly increased to more than 500 across the state. Now known as Wisconsin Wind Works, this consortium of manufacturers representing the wind manufacturing supply chain within Wisconsin connects wind power companies to suppliers and vendors across the world.
This collaboration has opened doors for the region, added jobs to the region, and helped establish Northeast Wisconsin as a world leader in the development of this industry sector.
