MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee chapter of the Wisconsin Innovation Network (WIN) Foundation on Monday, Aug. 9, will host top congressional candidates to discuss important federal issues affecting businesses and economic growth in southeast Wisconsin.

The noon forum will be held at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, 333 W. Kilbourn. To register, go to www.wisconsintechnologycouncil.com and click on the Featured Events bar.

WIN, the membership subsidiary of the Wisconsin Technology Council, will join with WisBusiness.com, a Web site and news service covering state and regional business issues, in organizing the event. The Metro Milwaukee Association of Commerce is a sponsor of the event; other sponsors will be announced soon.

Candidates Gerald Boyle, Tim Carpenter, Matt Flynn, Corey Hoze, and Gwen Moore are all confirmed.

Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council, will moderate the forum. Still moderated a similar forum earlier this year featuring the candidates for mayor and county executive.

“This is an important race for Milwaukee, which is developing a high-tech, entrepreneurial economy. Having a strong advocate in the House of Representatives will be essential to the area’s continued growth,” Still said.

Added Jeff Mayers, WisBusiness.com/WisPolitics.com president: “This is one of the most closely watched elections this year, and we think it’s crucial that candidate differences on business issues get the attention they deserve. The business climate and economy may be improving, but much work remains to be done to speed the transition to a more resilient state economic foundation.”

Cost: WIN members, $20; non-members, $25
