TDS: To receive Patriot Award from National Guard and Reserve

MADISON, Wis. (June 29, 2010)—TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) will be recognized by the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard Thursday July 1, 2010. TDS will receive the Patriot Award for its support of employee SGT Christopher Rogacki, while serving in Iraq from May 2009 through Jan. 2010. Join TDS executives and employees as they recognize the freedom provided by patriots, like Christopher, who work along side them each day.

What: The Patriot Award presentation to TDS for their support of employees serving abroad. TDS CEO and President Dave Wittwer and VP of Human Resources Mike Pandow will receive the award.

Date: Thursday, July 1

Location: TDS Headquarters – 525 Junction Road, Madison, main lobby.

Background: The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard conducts an awards program designed to recognize employers who support a strong National Guard and Reserve force. Employers qualify for recognition when they practice leadership and personnel policies that support employee participation in the Guard and Reserve.

Sergeant Rogacki was involved in detainee operations at Camp Cropper Compound 4 as a member of the 1158th Transportation Company from May 2009 – January 2010. In 2010, TDS had five active duty military members who returned to the employee base and two additional members who are still deployed. There are four employees scheduled to leave for training during 2010 as well. TDS was also recently nominated for the Freedom Award by the Secretary of Defense for its exemplary support of Guard and Reserve units.
