Milwaukee, WI – June 3, 2010 – On Saturday, June 26th, Historic Milwaukee Incorporated is excited to welcome you to join acclaimed historian and tour guide Sandy Ackerman on an enlightening tour of Lake galloway houseWinnebago and the city of Fond du lac.

This day of historical adventure will begin at 8:30am at the Watertown Plank Road Park and Ride, where guests will be bused to the first stop on the tour, Fond du lac’s historic Galloway House. Immediately following the walking tour, attendees will continue their journey aboard the Lakeside Spirit cruise ship where a picnic lunch will be served.

After lunch, a step-on guide will present a one and a half hour tour of Lake Winnebago and the city of Fond du lac.

Local historian Sandy Ackerman is devoted to the history and preservation of Wisconsin’s physical and cultural heritage. Sandy is eager to share with her guests some of the area’s more curious details while on this historical tour. According to Sandy, “The village, part of the historical park, is home to a church, town hall, one-room school house and over 20 more buildings. Guides will be stationed in many of the buildings to tell us about life in Fond du Lac in the 1800s.”

The cost for this tour will be $85 per person for members and $95 for non-members. Cost includes bus, admission to Galloway House, boat admission, docent and gourmet picnic lunch.
