Janesville — The secrets of CSI: Crime Scence Investigation, one of the most popular TV shows in the world, will be revealed by stars David Berman and Jon Wellner at UW-Rock County on Saturday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. This event will be held in the Kirk Denmark Theatre on the campus at 2909 Kellogg Ave.

Berman, who plays David Phillips, and Wellner, who plays Henry Andrews, will detail the exciting process of how each episode is created, from the story’s conception in the writers’ room all the way through post-production and finally on to the television screen. They’ll discuss how CSI is researched and show excerpts from the show that illustrate how that information is incorporated into each episode. Other topics of discussion include: behind-the-scenes stories about favorite episodes; science vs. entertainment and the so-called “CSI effect;” comparison of the fictional Universal Studios set with a real crime lab in Vegas; and a question-and-answer session on researching and acting on the show.

Berman’s television credits include guest-starring roles on Heroes, Profiler and Vanished. In addition to appearing on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Berman doubles as a member of the show’s production staff, serving as the Head Researcher for maintaining a database of more than 300 professionals working in virtually all aspects of law enforcement. Berman is a Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Wellner’s other television credits include Becker; Gilmore Girls; Yes, Dear; Judging Amy; N.C.I.S.; That’s So Raven; Bones and more. In 2002, he played Gilligan in the movie of the week, Surviving Gilligan’s Island. Wellner is also a standup comic and improviser. Theater credits include Morningstar at the famed Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago. Film credits include Bruce Almighty and Ocean’s 13.
