(June 29, 2004 – Brookfield, Wis.) McGlinchey & Associates, Inc., a full-service marketing communications firm, has appointed Harry Cherkinian as the agency’s Senior Vice President. He will be responsible for client work, client services and supervision. “Harry’s talents, experience and passion for providing the best client service possible make him an excellent addition to our staff,” said Melissa Eriksen, president of McGlinchey & Associates.
During his 25 years of experience, Cherkinian has created and managed in-house and agency marketing communications and public relations divisions for both consumer and business-to-business organizations. His areas of expertise include manufacturing, health care, mobile telecommunications, home improvement, hospital and non-profit organizations. He is nationally accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and has received multiple Awards of Excellence for his work from the PRSA-Wisconsin Chapter.
Cherkinian, a resident of Mequon, Wis., is a past president of the Executive Board of the Public Relations Society of America, and currently serves on the Board as the organization’s membership chair. He also serves on the boards of Camp Heartland, Milwaukee Task Force on Family Violence, and Response ALS. He teaches part-time at Mount Mary College.
Cherkinian received his Master of Science degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and his Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was inducted into the Iron Cross.
