We Energies: Praises Wisconsin Assembly for passage of AB 600

Legislation will streamline fuel cost adjustments

MILWAUKEE – We Energies praises the Wisconsin State Assembly for passing legislation that provides a statutory change needed by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) to implement a more effective, more rationalized fuel cost adjustment procedure. Rep. Jim Soletski (Green Bay) authored AB 600 to implement a better, more streamlined procedure that will ensure utilities do not make money on fuel nor lose money on fuel they use to generate electricity.

“Rep. Soletski should be commended for shepherding the bill through the Assembly. Customers deserve a less confusing system that sets the price on fuel in Wisconsin,” said Joel Haubrich, manager of state governmental affairs for We Energies.

We Energies serves more than 1.1 million electric customers in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and more than 1 million natural gas customers in Wisconsin.
