To help create and save jobs in South Central Wisconsin, Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin will host a seminar on Tuesday, February 16th for Wisconsin small and medium-sized businesses looking to grow their exports or enter the export market with support from U.S. government programs.
Joining Congresswoman Baldwin at the seminar will be Fred P. Hochberg, Chairman and President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Presentations and discussions will be led by representatives of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Small Business Administration, and the Export-Import Bank.
In the last five years, the Export-Import Bank has financed almost $390 million in exports from Wisconsin supporting 107 companies across the state. The purpose of this seminar is to give more Wisconsin companies the tools they need to compete and succeed in the world marketplace.
(President Obama recently announced his National Export Initiative to add more federal funding and assistance with the goal of doubling exports over the next five years to support two million jobs in the U.S. For more on that initiative visit: http://www.commerce.gov.)
