APPLETON, Wis. – Quick-strike tactics to reduce costs and ramp up productivity are the topic of a Nov. 10 Lunch and Learn presentation hosted by the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership (WMEP).

“Do More with Less: Get Fast Productivity Gains with Low-Cost Gemba Kaizen Tactics” will be held from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Meadows Conference Center, 850 Kepler Drive, Green Bay. A buffet luncheon will be served. There is no cost to attend; registration is required. To register or for more information contact Don McDonald at 920-737-3631 or mcdonald@wmep.org.

The presentation will be led by Fritz Dramm, a WMEP lean manufacturing expert. Joining him will be representatives from Manitowoc-based DOWCO, Inc. and Appleton-based Laminations Great Northern Corporation, who will discuss the benefits and ROI their companies achieved with Gemba Kaizen.

“In today’s business landscape, learning how to do more with less is essential for survival,” said Don McDonald of WMEP. “These tools can be put into place quickly with minimal investment and produce immediate returns.”

Gemba kaizen is core component of lean manufacturing. Kaizen is the Japanese word for improvement; Gemba is the place where value is created.
