Gov. Jim Doyle today announced a major conference to connect federal government buyers with Wisconsin businesses. FedShare 2004, offered by the Business Procurement Assistance Center (BPAC), will be held at the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison on June 7-8.

“My Grow Wisconsin initiative seeks to increase opportunities for Wisconsin based businesses to sell goods and services to the federal government and major businesses,” said Gov. Doyle. “FedShare 2004 is a unique setting for federal buyers to learn about the world-class businesses located in the Badger State.”

Many federal agencies will attend FedShare 2004 including the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers, USDA Forest Service Forest Product Laboratory, U.S. Dept of Veterans Affairs – National Acquisition Center, U.S. General Services Administration, U.S. Army Fort McCoy Contracting Office, U.S. Forest Service, Naval Facilities Engineering Command-Midwest 440th Airlift Wing – General Mitchell Air Reserve, Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center, U.S. Army Field Support Command, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the NASA Glenn Research Center.

Prime contractors attending FedShare 2004 include Reinhart Food Service, Pliant Corporation, DRS Power & Control Technologies, Cardinal Health, Woodward Company, Case Corporation, Astronautics Corporation of America, VT Griffin Services, Oshkosh Truck Corporation, Recon Optical, Inc., Master Lock Company, Fairbanks Morse Engine, Exide Technologies and WPS Health Insurance.

A Business Resource Expo and procurement training sessions will offer tips on marketing, doing business with various agencies, the importance of keywords, legal issues for contracting and subcontracting, and other helpful sessions.
