Focus on Businesses Response and Recovery Planning

October 16, 2009, Madison, WI — The Wisconsin Safety Council, the educational division of the business association Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, will present a symposium for businesses October 23 on how to prepare for an influenza pandemic. The program, titled “Business Simplified Business Pandemic Planning, Preparation and Recovery”, will be presented by Ken Wilson, a business pandemic planning expert, and Lisa Pentony, Pandemic Influenza Program Manager, Wisconsin Division of Public Health, Department of Health Services.

The presentation discusses how a pandemic influenza would affect businesses, and outlines the steps businesses can take to minimize the impact. The focuses will be on preparing small to medium-sized firms to face the challenges presented by a pandemic influenza, and will cover the components of a Business Pandemic Plan: the Crisis Management Team, Company Policies, the Communications Plan, the Health and Safety Education Plan, the Essential Services/Functions Plan and the Recovery Plan.
