WorkSource Wisconsin is proud to present “Utilizing Mental Health Parity to Enhance Your Bottom Line” a free webinar to illustrate the impact of mental health parity legislation on Wisconsin business. This training is timed to aide Wisconsin businesses in complying with the new law which takes effect January 1, 2010 for most employer-sponsored health plans.
Attendees of the webinar will be provided with an overview of the new Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 by Dr. Jerry Halverson, M.D. of the UW-Madison Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Halverson will provide an overview of employer responsibilities and coverage and benefit mandates associated with the new legislation. He will provide details on the regulations that go into effect for health insurance renewals beginning January 2010 for businesses with more than 50 employees.
Attendees will hear from Jeff Kluever, Director of Risk Management of Journal Communications on their experience since 2008 of providing mental health benefits on a par with traditional health benefits within the company’s health benefit package. Mr. Kluever will provide details on Journal Communications experience with the advent of mental health parity in their employee benefit plan. This will include information on mental health benefit expense, employee absence and presenteeism expense. Mr. Kluever will review the strategic plan followed by Journal Communications in implementing mental health parity.
