Cudahy Police: Patrick Cudahy plant fire caused by military flare

CUDAHY, WI – The Cudahy Police Department, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Wisconsin State Fire Marshal today announced a reward of up to $16,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the July 5th, 2009, fire at the Patrick Cudahy Plant. The reward is being funded by ATF, the Wisconsin Arson Insurance Counsel and Southern Milwaukee Crime Stoppers.

The fire scene was processed by investigators from the Cudahy Police Department, agents from the State Fire Marshal’s Office, agents from ATF and the Wisconsin State Patrol. The investigators have determined that this fire was a result of a military flare landing on a roof top. The flare was fired from the east of Patrick Cudahy on the evening of July 5th, 2009.

We are asking for the public’s help to apprehend and convict the person or persons who are responsible.
