Today, Mary Anne Snyder, President of the Celebrate Children Foundation announced the appointment of James L. Leonhart as its new Executive Vice President. Leonhart will begin in his new role on July 1, 2009.
“We are very pleased to have Jim Leonhart join the Foundation as its first Executive Vice President,” said Mary Anne Snyder. “He has the perfect combination of skills needed to carry the Foundation to its next level. Jim brings a strong business and education background, great vision and a compassion for our mission, which is critical to ensuring the success of the Foundation.”
Leonhart most recently held the position of Executive Director of the Wisconsin Biotechnology and Medical Device Association (WBMA). In this position, Jim was responsible for expanding the association membership from 40 to nearly 300 members, while having the WBMA recognized as one of the leading life science associations in the country.
Prior to his work with the WBMA, Leonhart was a Senior Consultant at DeWitt, Ross & Stevens, S.C. and served as Vice President of Government Relations at AT&T.
Leonhart also serves as a member of the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin, Aaron’s House, and the University of Wisconsin-Extension Board of Visitors. In addition, Leonhart is on the Advisory Board of the Small Business Development Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Leonhart also served as a member of the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board and the Celebrate Children Foundation Board.
Leonhart received his bachelor’s degree in physical education and chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and his master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The Celebrate Children Foundation promotes investments in quality childhood and family development experiences to ensure an environment in which all Wisconsin children become healthy and productive citizens. The Foundation recently created an endowment with revenue from the sale of Celebrate Children license plates.
