MADISON – There are many young University of Wisconsin-Madison graduates on the move – those who’ve leveraged their UW-Madison degree to make an impact in their business, professional field or community – and the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) seeks to share their success stories.

Nominations are now open for the 2010 Forward under 40 awards. These annual awards from WAA honor and recognize outstanding UW-Madison graduates under age 40 who are living the Wisconsin Idea, the principle that the boundaries of the classroom should extend to the boundaries of the state and beyond to influence and improve people’s lives.

To be considered for the award, nominees must not turn 40 (or older) prior to Jan. 1, 2010. The nominees will be considered for their career and/or volunteer achievements, success and impact in their professional field or community, current ties to UW-Madison, and demonstrated Badger spirit in terms of energy, initiative, creativity and drive.

“We are excited for the third year of this successful awards program,” says WAA president and CEO Paula Bonner. “Many alumni took the time to write in to say how proud and impressed they were by the accomplishments of last year’s 12 award winners, and we’re looking forward to recognizing a new group of outstanding young Badgers with the 2010 awards.”

Nominations for the Forward under 40 awards are currently open and will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. Central time on Thursday, July 9. Honorees will be notified in November and featured in a special publication in March 2010. For more information and to nominate an outstanding young Badger, visit http://www.forwardunder40.com.
