PosiPair: 3rd round finalist in the Governor’s Business Plan Competition

Start-Up Creates Unique Internet Service for Green Businesses

MADISON, WISCONSIN

PosiPair, a local green business web start-up, announced today that the company’s entry in the Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest has won elevation to Phase 3 of the competition – the final writing phase. Contestants are now required to submit a Final Business Plan that is no more than 20 pages long by 5 p.m. CST on Monday, April 27th.

“Our judges faced a number of tough choices,” said Thomas Still, President of the Wisconsin Technology Council, “and the contestants who advanced represent only 6 percent of the total entries. They’re members of a very exclusive club.”

PosiPair has four competitors who are also in the Business Services category. The other categories include Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, and Information Technology.

“It’s quite an honor for our team to be counted among the top 21,” said Sarah Manski, CEO and co-founder of PosiPair. “We’re really thrilled to be recognized for creating a web service that is building the Internet architecture of the new green economy.”

The Governor’s Business Plan Contest is now in its sixth year of encouraging entrepreneurs in the early-growth stages of high-tech businesses in Wisconsin. Participants have the chance to win a Grand Prize worth $50,000. There were a record 326 entries entries this year, representing a 33 percent increase over last year.

“This caps a great news week for PosiPair: we were featured at the new Metro Innovation Center reception, and now we’re moving on to Phase 3. We’re definitely feeling the positive momentum building around us,” Sarah Manski added.

PosiPair received a letter of commendation from the chairman of the Wisconsin Technology Council.

Of the 21 Phase 3 contestants, 12 finalists will be asked to give a Powerpoint presentation to a panel of judges on June 9th at the Entrepreneurs’ Conference in Milwaukee’s Hyatt Regency Hotel.
