PRS to roll out several new technologies for its growing system of retirement communities

(Medford, Oregon) February 17, 2009 – Pacific Retirement Services, Inc. (PRS), a national not-for-profit leader in the senior living and health care industry and the parent company of Capitol Lakes in Downtown Madison, announced today that it has appointed Stephen L. Eichen to the new position of Chief Information Officer. Mr. Eichen is a Fortune 50 and Big 4 pedigreed executive and consultant with a proven record of successfully optimizing technology and strategy for large global enterprises such as Nautilus, Deloitte & Touche, and Boeing.

Mr. Eichen earned his Master’s degree in management and policy sciences and his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Stony Brook University in New York. He is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is certified in production and inventory management (CPIM) by the American Production & Inventory Control Society (APICS). He is based at the PRS western headquarters in Medford, Oregon.

“Since 2006, PRS has been expanding at a very fast rate,” says Tom Becker, President and CEO of PRS. “We opened a second corporate office in Memphis, Tennessee, which brought onboard our newest Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) affiliate, Capitol Lakes in Madison, Wisconsin. We started a new line of Mirabella CCRCs, including Mirabella Seattle, which is now open, and Mirabella Portland, under construction now in South Waterfront. We’re also expanding many of our existing affiliated and managed retirement communities. Mr. Eichen will help us meet the demand and fulfill our commitment to apply the latest technologies to ease the lives of seniors and improve their access to services.”

Mr. Eichen has come on board at PRS during a major roll-out of new technologies, which are being integrated and piloted at the just-opened Mirabella Seattle, with others to follow. Among the technologies are:

* An electronic medical records and census system

* A point-of-sale system for dining services, which allows wireless tableside ordering by servers

* A maintenance work order tracking package that allows PRS community managers to send resident maintenance requests to workers in the field through their mobile devices

* An e-procurement tool for improving ordering and supplier management

* Building security access controls and environmental monitoring

* New core accounting and billing systems

* Integrated applicant tracking, personnel records, timekeeping, payroll, and e-learning systems

To further its involvement in new technologies, PRS has forged partnerships with Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) and Intel Health, Research & Innovation Group to collaborate on the latest health services and new technologies for the care and well-being of residents at its new Mirabella CCRC in Portland, Oregon.
