St. Norbert College: CEO breakfast & strategy series plans two events for February

DE PERE: Two chief executives will present in February as part of the St. Norbert College CEO Breakfast and Strategy Series. This is the 12th year that the college has provided this educational resource for area business professionals. All of the presenters are outstanding business and community leaders who will share their unique strategies for meeting challenges facing American businesses today. The series is sponsored by Schenck Business Solutions, Miron Construction and Marketplace Magazine.

All sessions are from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., and take place at the Riverview Country Club, Appleton, or F.K. Bemis International Center, St. Norbert College.

Tuesday, Feb. 17

JIM RIVETT TO SPEAK ON “BUILDING YOUR ORGANIZATION’S AUTHENTIC BRAND IDENTITY”

Jim Rivett, president and executive creative director for Arketype, will present “Building your Organization’s Authentic Brand Identity” as part of the St. Norbert College CEO Breakfast and Strategy Series, Tuesday, Feb. 17, 7:30-8:30 a.m. in the F.K. Bemis International Center at St. Norbert College.

Since 1997, Rivett has served as Arketype’s creative director. In August 2007, he also became the firm’s president. A respected industry veteran, his career in the graphic design and advertising industry spans 28 years and numerous awards.

A native of Green Bay, Rivett is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in painting and drawing. He pursued post-graduate study at the New York School of Visual Arts and at the American Paper Institute of New York, which fueled his interest in graphic design.

Rivett is an active community supporter and a member of the executive board of directors for downtown Green Bay’s performing arts venue, the Meyer Theatre. He also leads the theatre’s marketing committee.

LOU GENTINE TO SPEAK ON “PLANNING FOR THE NEXT GENERATION: LEADERSHIP SUCCESSION IN A FAMILY BUSINESS”

Lou Gentine, president and CEO of Sargento Cheese, will present “Planning for the Next Generation: Leadership Succession in a Family Business” as part of the St. Norbert College CEO Breakfast and Strategy Series, Wednesday, Feb. 25, 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the Riverview Country Club, Appleton.

Lou Gentine is a second-generation family owner of Sargento Foods Inc., a leading national marketer of cheeses and cheese-based solutions headquartered in Plymouth, Wis. Gentine earned a bachelor of business in accounting from Notre Dame, and worked at Price Waterhouse as a certified public accountant before joining Sargento in 1973 as controller. Following several other promotions, he assumed his current position of chief executive officer in 1981 and chairman in 1996.

Sargento is a family-owned and operated business with Lou’s brothers Larry and Lee serving on the board of directors. His son, Louie, and two nephews are also actively involved in Sargento.

Lou and his wife, Michele, live in Elkhart Lake, Wis., and have three children and eight grandchildren. .
