Vision Beloit: Welcomes Kathy Wine

Beloit, WI – Vision Beloit and the Beloit College Department of Economics kick off the second year of the City Center Seminar Series at Vision Beloit, 500 Public Avenue. These City Center Seminar Series are held on the second Thursday of each month, and bring to Beloit individuals that can share their perspective on the wealth and well being of the places where we live.

The first seminar of the New Year is set for Thursday January 8, 2009 at noon and will feature Kathy Wine, Founder and Executive Director of River Action. River Action is an organization celebrating it 25th year of bringing people to the Mississippi River and its RiverFront. River Action has led a remarkable transformation of the Quad Cities RiverFront with a variety of large and small scale projects. Kathy Wine will present a program on how to sustain a volunteer organization over a long period of time. Kathy has been a remarkable civic entrepreneur in the Quad Cities and a leading advocate of using waterfronts as a force for economic and cultural vitality.

Vibrant city centers are the core of prosperous and thriving metropolitan areas. Topics for these seminar series will consist of both specific city center development issues as well as locating the city center within its region. These seminars are free and open to the public. No RSVP is necessary.
