Georgia-Pacific Honors Schneider National with Carrier of the Year Award

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Aug. 11, 2008 — Schneider National, a leading provider of transportation, intermodal and logistics services, announced today that it was named the 2008 Carrier of the Year for Georgia-Pacific LLC. The award recognizes exceptional transportation services and is offered to carriers who haul at least 2,000 loads each year for the company, which is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and marketers of tissue, packaging, paper, pulp and building products and related chemicals.

Schneider National earned Georgia-Pacific’s recognition as a result of its performance against the award qualification standards, including on-time delivery, trailer pool, customer delivery communication, growth, ease in doing business, capacity, equipment quality and sustainability initiatives.

“Schneider’s communication with customers and its commitment to the environment were key contributors in our selection,” said Paul Snider, vice president of transportation for Georgia-Pacific. “When we use Schneider, we know we are getting innovative, on-time transportation solutions that meet our customer’s deadlines and uphold our commitment to the environment.”

Georgia-Pacific has been recognizing carriers at its Carrier Recognition Conference for over 15 years. This year Schneider, who is Georgia-Pacific’s largest volume carrier, was selected as the award recipient over 70 other carriers. Schneider provides truckload, intermodal and dedicated services to Georgia-Pacific.

“A global manufacturer like Georgia-Pacific needs—and deserves—responsible, on-time carriers who are committed to service and the environment,” said Steve Matheys, executive vice president of sales, marketing and customer service at Schneider National. “Schneider is dedicated to both, and we’re honored to earn this award from Georgia-Pacific, a customer we’ve served for over 25 years.”

Schneider adds the 2008 award to its previous Carrier of the Year awards from Georgia-Pacific in 2004 and 2005.
