VP Dan Dietz to present at national conference for pharma manufacturers, wholesalers

GERMANTOWN, Wisconsin – The challenges of managing returns, credits and rebills in the
pharmaceutical logistics industry will be addressed by Dan Dietz, the Vice President of Finance for DDN
Pharmaceutical Logistics, at a nationally-recognized conference to be held later this month in Philadelphia, Pa.
Dietz is on the roster of expert speakers at the 4th Annual Commercial Contracts and Chargeback Management
for Manufacturers and Wholesalers conference, which will be held June 19-20. DDN is an Executive Sponsor of
the event, which is organized by The Center for Business Intelligence (www.cbinet.com). More than 300 industry
executives are expected to attend.

The goal of the conference is to address commercial contracts and chargeback management for manufacturers
and wholesalers, with an emphasis on optimizing chargeback administration with trading partners in ways that
improve business processes and, ultimately, their bottom line.

“Industry leaders are joining forces to share their expertise and thought leadership to identify solutions for the
challenges facing the industry, and DDN has been at the forefront in embracing innovative ways of doing
business,” Dietz commented. “We look forward to having the opportunity to share our knowledge and experience
at the conference.”

Product returns are particularly challenging in the pharmaceutical industry. Attempting to validate where the
product was sold, who is eligible for credit and at what value are examples of these complex hurdles. New tools
and processes to analyze multiple forms of electronic data interchange (EDI) information such as 844/852/867,
while unwieldy, are bringing the industry closer by improving visibility.

The real solution? Dietz says product level serialization driven by Pedigree legislation promises to provide true
clarity throughout the Supply Chain and represents the critical success factor to improve the overall return
process.

Other topics to be covered by Dietz include issues surrounding Negative Chargebacks and Credit/Rebills. Here
the challenges include capturing and segregating these financial transactions to ensure compliance with
government price value computations.

“In addition, DDN has ideas on how to deal with faulty product-returns crediting, and reducing discrepancies
related to original pricing and volumes of returned products,” Dietz said. “A key reason why DDN is able to thrive
in this industry is our focus on specialized service and innovative thinking that streamlines distribution and
improves reliability for those who need pharmaceutical products to improve their quality of life, while offering a
solid ROI for our clients.”

Before joining DDN Pharmaceutical Logistics in 2005, Dietz spent 20 years with Abbott Laboratories, holding
numerous finance and accounting positions supporting Commercial, Manufacturing and Treasury Operations both
at the Divisional and Corporate levels. Dietz holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University
and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin. Dietz served as DDN’s Director of Order-To-Cash Services before
his promotion to Vice President in 2007.
